Fall is on it's way!

I just love fall.  The days are sunny and warm and the nights are cool and brisk.  It's the colors I love the most, the reds and yellows against the green pine tree background.

  The wind blows and wrestles the leaves from the trees and they look like they are dancing to the ground.  My Japanese Maple is also getting ready for a long winters nap.  

Alien Life Form

While we were splitting wood, I came across an alien life form.  It was so strange I just couldn't resist taking it's picture.  Notice it wears it's brain on the outside :0)

Getting Ready for Winter.

 Joe cut the logs up this Sept.  now we need to split it.  Thanks to our friends Pete and Annie for loaning us their wood splitter.  I think Joe said we split 7 cords of wood...i hope that is enough :0).  It is such an amazing machine.  I love the smell of the wood.
